Cultural Eatery

For some time now, I have been reflecting on identity. As I thought about it, it came to my that what I been trying to do, is to  build awareness that something so simple as food contributes to building identity.

To me it appears that a certain mixture of ingredients -which can come from all over the world – got blended into fabulous  and tasting dishes redefining the national cuisines.  So this blog is about me taking a stand about food and the role it plays in our culture.  But it is also about the the difference between gastronomy -the relationship between food and culture- and the culinary  aspects of it -preparing, serving and enjoying food-.

I am going to look into these aspects in a casual and relaxed manner, research the origins of ingredients and the history behind them and the process that bound together as elements to a certain kitchen. I will be reviewing and mixing own recipes, recommending places to eat or venues  to find ingredients,  and most important, I want to engage in the exchange of experiences and knowledge with you, the reader.
