Hello and welcome to this blog. I am very happy to say hola and introduce myself. I am Sara Beltran, Mexico City is where I was born, but I have called Sao Paulo, Brazil, Johannesburg, South Africa and New Deli, India home. For 5 years now I call Munich “heimat” the German word for home. The adaptation process has not always being easy but the eating habits of all these places has given me a way into understanding their identity and mostly their culture.
In México we have a tradition that is linked with eating and this is the sobremesa, or the time spent after eating where we engage in conversation, having a drink, just catching up. And this is done around the dinning table, so my idea was to link this conversation and exchange over good food and a drink and dive into the cultural implications of gastronomy through this website and I hope you enjoy this experiment with me and have a great time discovering this unique world that gastronomy and culture can reveal to you.
